Job summary

General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking an Equipment Specialist to monitor and improve the national vehicle maintenance program. You will serve as the MCC POC, review repair estimates, and coordinate warranted repairs with manufacturers to minimize government costs.

The role involves data-driven analysis, vendor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with contract terms, with a focus on timely, quality support to fleet personnel and customers nationwide.

Qualifications

• Resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet the specialized experience described; resume should not exceed two pages.
• Education requirements include a master’s degree or 2 years of graduate education or professional degrees as stated in the vacancy.
• Combination of education and experience acceptable per GS-09/GS-11 qualification criteria.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and guide customers and contractors through vehicle maintenance processes.
• Review repair estimates for cost effectiveness and ensure contractor estimates comply with contract requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate with manufacturers' technical representatives to obtain warranted repairs at minimal or no cost to the Government.
• Provide timely customer assistance by researching program records, data systems, and customer histories; follow up on MCC operations.
• Negotiate best prices with open market vendors for repair services and supplies; ensure Government reimbursement when appropriate.
• Utilize automated data systems to generate MCC reports, repair histories, vendor listings, and related analyses.
