Job summary

ATS, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Advisor to coordinate maintenance and service needs for its drivers.

You will receive calls and guide the repair process from start to finish, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime. This role demands detailed communication, strong customer service, and proactive problem-solving as you schedule preventive maintenance, review estimates, and ensure compliance with DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• 1. High School diploma and 2-4 years of experience in a customer-driven environment is required.
• 2. Experience working as a Service Advisor within a dealership or maintenance shop is helpful but not required.
• 3. Call center experience preferred but not required.
• 4. Experience in the CMV transportation industry is highly recommended.
• 5. Understanding labor and warranty policies is helpful in this role.
• 6. Experience developing relationships to manage workload for a fleet.
• 7. Must have general geography knowledge and map-reading skills.
• 8. Ability to negotiate repair costs skillfully.
• 9. Strong planning and problem-solving skills; proactive communication.
• 10. Proficiency in responding to internal and external customers timely.
• 11. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• 12. Proactive alignment with ATS values.
• 13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• 14. Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication.
• 15. Willingness to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming calls from ATS drivers regarding breakdowns and maintenance needs.
• Maintain a service standard of answering calls within 30 seconds at least 70% of the time.
• Collaborate with Operations and vendors to minimize downtime for trucks and trailers.
• Schedule preventive maintenance appointments within required intervals.
• Ensure fleet is DOT compliant and inspections are current; address roadside violations.
• Review and approve estimates; manage costs and apply warranties.
• Negotiate repair estimates with guidance from the manager.
• Request and follow up on invoicing with vendors and close out work orders.
• Be available to work weekends on a rotating schedule.
• Demonstrate ATS Mission, Vision, and Values in daily actions.
• Support ATS culture by aligning actions with company competencies.
• Complete duties outside normal hours as needed; travel may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
