Job summary

The City of Copperas Cove is seeking a Parts Technician in the Fleet Maintenance Department to perform essential clerical support for the city's vehicle and equipment fleet.

You will manage records, input work orders, order parts, assist with budgeting, and coordinate preventive maintenance with city departments. Strong Excel/office skills and a valid Texas driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Specialized coursework in general office practices (typing, filing, accounting).
• Two years of related experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clerical duties of the Fleet Maintenance Department.
• Plan and coordinate Fleet Maintenance preventive maintenance program.
• Assist with budget development and capital plans.
• Serve as liaison with Finance, Public Works and other Departments.
• Develop and maintain office forms and procedures.
• Input work orders into the system for invoicing and distribution daily.
• Order parts and maintain internal inventory; reconcile with Finance.
• Prepare monthly preventive maintenance and vehicle inspection schedules.
• Prepare monthly reports for Finance and other Departments.
• Perform end-of-fiscal-year stock inventory.
