Job summary

Copperas Cove is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support city buildings and facilities. You will assist planning, organizing, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

The role requires coordinating with the Grounds Superintendent, completing work orders, and maintaining records. On-site work with occasional after-hours support, contributing to the upkeep of city assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum two years' experience in building maintenance with electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC.
• Landscaping, construction, maintenance, concrete and use of heavy equipment or welding.

Responsibilities

• Resolves repair issues and completes maintenance activities safely and timely.
• Ensure work orders are completed and maintain records/reports.
• Manage building access, door hardware, keys, and hardware replacements.
• Perform carpentry tasks: framing, drywall, painting, shelving, doors.
• Coordinate with contractors and managers to plan projects.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs and inventory maintenance.
• Assist with special events set-up and teardown.
• Transport materials between job sites and assist in moving furnishings.
