Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and service for our fleet vehicles. The role includes inspecting electrical and braking systems, replacing fluids, and assisting senior technicians with repairs in a safe, compliant environment.

Qualified candidates have 1–2 years of repair experience (diesel preferred), basic mechanical aptitude, and own basic tools. This on-site position requires good communication and reliability in a team setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years repairing and maintaining vehicles, equipment, and related components preferred.
• Diesel-powered vehicle experience preferred.
• General knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Lock/Tag Out procedures knowledge or ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner per regulations and policies.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service all fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules.
• Grease, oil and lubricate components during preventive maintenance service.
• Check and fill fluids and filters for all fleet vehicles.
• Inspect vehicle electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to vehicle systems.
• Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of time, maintenance orders and parts usage.
