Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform routine upkeep on our fleet, ensuring safe operation and compliance. The role requires hands-on work, diagnosis, and documentation of maintenance activities.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of repair experience, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics. This full-time position includes competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with computers, repair manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction with customers.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner per regulations and policies.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules.
• Grease, oil and lubricate components during maintenance service.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters for vehicles.
• Inspect vehicle support systems such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to vehicle systems.
• Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of time, maintenance orders and parts usage.
