Job summary

Smart Foodservice Stores is seeking a Manager, Fleet & Facility Operations to lead maintenance for fleet, refrigeration, and facility functions. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient asset management to ensure uninterrupted service to customers.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance teams, coordinating capital projects, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to food safety regulations across operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor associates responsible for building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, power industrial equipment, and security maintenance using tracking software and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of refrigeration systems to ensure temperature control for perishable products; partner with QA and Food Safety teams.
• Manage facility operations activities and capital projects; coordinate repairs, upgrades, and equipment installations.
• Lead to create a safety culture; interpret, train, and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate staff; manage labor hours within budget and create work schedules.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors; ensure certificates of insurance and hold harmless agreements.
• Oversee selection, purchase, inventory control of assets like racking, equipment, and shop tools; monitor life cycles.
• Partner with QA and sanitation teams to ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, GMPs.
• Ensure all vehicles are in proper working condition; maintain documentation and certifications.
• Work with drivers to operate equipment and obtain bids for repairs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; conduct internal audits and document inspections.
• Partner with Safety to deliver training and safety observations; lead emergency planning and crisis management.
• Coordinate with warehouse and transportation to support high-volume receiving and shipping.
