Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. Strong diagnostic and preventive maintenance skills are required, with documentation of all work performed.

Starting pay is $30.70 per hour, with eligible adds like tool reimbursement and tuition support. Candidates with ASE Master certification receive an additional pay premium; shift differential is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or within 60 days of obtaining a vehicle maintenance certificate.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges, and vehicle diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents all maintenance performed in reports (written and electronic).
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
