Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, and related equipment. The role requires the ability to diagnose, perform preventive maintenance, and document work meticulously.

ASE certifications and a Class A CDL are preferred, with tools and a valid license typically expected. The position offers competitive hourly pay starting at 31.63 with additional benefits such as tool reimbursement, tuition support for ASE certifications, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience or certification within 60 days or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools used in vehicle troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic computer skills related to maintenance programs and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with diesel and gas engines; able to lift components ~110 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Document maintenance work accurately in reports and systems.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company procedures.
• Perform safety inspections and, as needed, paint and body work.
