Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, and forklifts. The role requires preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and accurate documentation to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Qualified applicants will have vehicle maintenance experience or the appropriate certificate, ASE certifications, and a Class A CDL preferred. This on-site, hands-on position offers growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year vehicle maintenance experience or completion of a maintenance certificate/apprentice program.
• One or more ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment and troubleshooting.
• Basic computer skills and diagnostic systems.
• Familiarity with precision measurement instruments and lifting devices.
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with assistance or equipment.
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
• Paint and body work experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in maintaining and repairing equipment.
• Documents maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
