Based in our Schaumburg, IL headquarters, the Fleet Coordinator will oversee day-to-day operations of the Fortis vehicle fleet across all branches. This role reports directly to the CFO and will collaborate closely with Branch Operations, Safety, HR, and Legal to ensure we maintain a safe, compliant, and cost-effective fleet. The role includes up to 25% travel to support branch fleet operations, acquisition integration, and special projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet.
  • Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services.
  • Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements.
  • Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets.
  • Ensures that fleet program goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
  • Maintain and monitor fleet telematic system and compliance.
  • Oversee Enterprise Fleet Management system use, maintenance scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Support post-acquisition integration of new fleet assets, standardizing policies and systems across branches.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports for leadership on fleet performance, safety, and cost trends.
  • Serve as a liaison to field teams and drivers for all fleet-related concerns.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, HR, and Legal to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate telematics installation with fleet and maintenance management.
  • Monitoring and analyzing fleet data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing reports related to fleet operations and presenting them to management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of fleet or operations coordination experience
  • Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and fleet safety best practices.
  • Intermediate Excel and data reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Samsara and/or Enterprise Fleet Management strongly preferred
  • Experience with field service and/or multi-state operations in a private equity environment

Compensation $60,000 - $70,000

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the Team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The Team member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs, or balance. The Team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
