Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) is seeking a Fleet Compliance Specialist in Leawood, KS. This in-office role coordinates licenses, permits, and tax-related filings for contract vehicles, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Fleet Compliance Specialist will also handle fuel tax reporting, IFTA filings, HVUT returns, and unit status changes, working

Qualifications

• College degree or direct experience in truck licensing, permitting, fuel tax reporting, and/or billing is preferred.
• Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products; AS400 experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
• Must have a positive, can-do attitude and be willing to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to concurrently manage numerous open requests and tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Renew vehicle licenses and permits with branches and track renewals for timeliness.
• Coordinate procurement of licenses and permits for new units and ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Audit and reconcile charges for taxes, licenses, and permits; invoice when actual amounts exceed contracts.
• Coordinate fuel tax processes; provide Driver Trip Reports, mileage downloads, and fuel downloads to field staff.
• File corporate and customer IFTA reports monthly and quarterly.
• Process monthly and annual HVUT returns and secure credits due for MTL and customers.
• Oversee property tax returns for contract vehicles to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare customer reports related to truck legalization as needed.
• Supervise unit status changes (in-service, out-of-service, transfers) and assist with final billing.
• Process CPI semi-annual rate increases; perform other duties as assigned.
