Socket.dev in Texas is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the company’s transportation assets and ensure compliant, efficient operations. You will manage maintenance, records, licenses, and audits while driving uptime and cost control.

This role requires proactive oversight of DOT/EPA compliance, vendor management, driver staffing, and performance. The ideal candidate will leverage telematics, maintain SOPs, and collaborate with HR to meet staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA vehicle and emissions requirements.
• Experience maintaining permits (HAZMAT, IRP, IFTA, UCR).
• Ability to track licensing, registration, and insurance renewals.
• Experience maintaining DOT inspection records and compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fleet meets DOT, FMCSA, and EPA requirements.
• Maintain permits and ensure timely renewal (HAZMAT, IRP, IFTA, UCR).
• Track vehicle licensing, registration, and insurance renewals.
• Maintain DOT inspection records and equipment compliance documents.
• Maintain maintenance records, inspection logs, and repair history for all vehicles and trailers.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and track compliance.
• Monitor vehicle telematics and GPS for route adherence and equipment performance.
• Schedule and document annual DOT vehicle inspections.
• Manage approved repair vendors and control maintenance and repair costs.
• Develop and distribute fleet SOPs.
• Prepare maintenance and compliance documentation for audits and inspections.
• Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance, repairs, and regulatory filings.
• Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (e.g., IFTA, HAZMAT).
• Keep updated records of maintenance, vehicle performance, and compliance reviews.
• Maintain permits and ensure timely renewal (HAZMAT, IRP, IFTA, UCR).
• Recruit, interview, and hire qualified drivers in coordination with HR.
• Verify driver qualifications, licensing, and endorsements.
• Oversee driver onboarding and set performance expectations.
• Manage driver performance and termination decisions in coordination with HR.
• Maintain accurate personnel and staffing records for drivers.
