Job summary

Avis Budget Group International is seeking an Auto Body Damage Manager to lead fleet damage repair, in-fleeting and de-fleeting for maximum utilization and profitability. You will manage a high-performing team, set goals, and ensure safe, efficient maintenance across locations.

You will forecast budgets, negotiate body shop rates, manage vendor performance and ensure timely invoicing and purchase orders. The role requires strong leadership, financial acumen and a hands-on approach to process

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; 2–4 year college degree preferred (or equivalent in education, training or experience).
• Minimum of 2 years management experience in related field (rental car, automotive shop or service oriented field).
• Prior experience writing damage is preferable.
• Valid driver’s license and successful background check.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates operating plans to maximize fleet utilization and directs vehicle damage repair.
• Manages team performance against business goals and key metrics (cost per estimate, idle cars, vendor cycle time).
• Prioritizes vehicles for repair and communicates work to the team.
• Ensures repair orders are completed per guidelines and manages damage repair labor hours and parts sourcing.
• Maintains vendor relationships and audits, manages budgets and key financial drivers.
• Oversees safety, HR processes, hiring, onboarding and performance management for managers and staff.
