Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Birmingham, AL seeks a Fleet Maintenance and Damage Manager to lead fleet services, oversee maintenance, repairs, and in-fleeting of rental vehicles, and maximize utilization.

You will manage a team, set KPIs, coordinate vendor appraisals, and partner with district managers to align with business goals. This on-site post requires 5 years of management experience and a valid driver’s license. Competitive salary with 15% bonus potential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years management experience in rental car, automotive shop or service oriented field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• On-site presence; this position cannot be performed remotely.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develops operating plans to maximize fleet utilization and manages maintenance, repair, and reconditioning of fleet vehicles.
• Monitors team performance against KPIs for service, damage, in-fleet and deletion.
• Forecasts budgets and manages key financial drivers including per day costs and deletions.
• Coordinates damage appraisals/repairs and orders parts, tools and supplies.
• Oversees vendor relationships and ensures service levels and policy compliance.
• Oversees repair/maintenance of buses at bussing locations.
• Partners with Fleet owner, District/City Managers and external partners to prioritize workload.
• Manages employee lifecycle and HR processes to enable high performance culture.
• Provides a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies.
