Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, perform maintenance, and ensure services are completed right the first time. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and VIP processes, with emphasis on customer engagement and accurate service documentation.

As a non-exempt hourly position, the technician will work with a service team to maintain high productivity, participate in ongoing training, and uphold VIP quality standards across all duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and procedures.
• Explain vehicle information clearly to customers and coworkers.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions for automotive problems.
• Follow written and oral instructions accurately.
• Maintain required ASE certifications and state inspections when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize workplace safety and follow all safety policies.
• Provide diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems.
• Initiate Service Work Orders and display it with the vehicle.
• Complete MPI and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process.
• Return parts and manage cores to the desk team after service.
• Maintain 16-week productivity targets for technician levels.
• Follow VIP quality standards and complete required training.
