Job summary

Dallas County seeks an Inventory Clerk to maintain fixed asset records and support county operations. Under general supervision, you will enter data, monitor assets, generate reports for the Commissioners Court, and ensure accuracy of asset tagging and payments clearance.

The role requires high school diploma, 4 years related experience or 60 college hours, plus strong computer skills, ability to type 35 wpm, and a valid Texas driver’s license. Background checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Four (4) years job related experience or 60 hours of college or a combination of the two.
  • Experience in a customer service or inventory management/supply environment a plus.
  • Ability to type 35 wpm or 70 kspm with knowledge of computer applications and standard word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, tags, and conducts inventory of County property.
  • Prepares fixed asset reports for Commissioners Court.
  • Coordinates with the Auditor’s Office to ensure payment of fixed asset purchase orders are received prior to tagging.
  • Monitors all Countywide stolen, lost or destroyed fixed assets and assists in locating missing items.
  • Inspects new fixed assets prior to acceptance and assists in moving or auctioning fixed assets.
  • Issues manufacturing and classification codes to all fixed asset purchase orders and maintains a log of changes.
  • Enters purchase orders into the fixed asset computer system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
