Job summary

The Little Nell is Aspen's premier luxury hotel seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishes, and related areas. This role supports food preparation as needed and reports to the Executive Steward.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
• ServSafe or similar food safety course certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and stack all dishes properly.
• Store dishes and silver in the designated locations.
• Set up cleaning area: put dish machine together properly, fill all water tanks, turn on heating elements to dish machine.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweeping.
• Assist with storage of food deliveries.
• Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper time.
• Disassemble, clean and re-assemble dishwasher prior to end of shift.
• Post appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure highest level of safety.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean orderly condition.
• Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications.
• Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
• Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to Executive Steward
• Other duties as assigned
