Job summary

The Little Nell in Aspen is seeking a Steward to support the kitchen by cleaning, storing flatware, silver, glassware, and assisting in food preparation as requested. Reporting to the Executive Steward, you will help maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work area during busy service times.

Responsibilities include dish washing and stacking, proper storage of dishes and utensils, following prep lists, and reporting issues to supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
• ServSafe or similar food safety course certification is preferred

Responsibilities

• Clean and stack all dishes properly
• Store dishes and silver in the designated locations
• Set up cleaning area: put dish machine together properly, fill all water tanks, turn on heating elements to dish machine
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweeping
• Assist with storage of food deliveries
• Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper time
• Disassemble, clean and re-assemble dishwasher prior to end of shift
• Post appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure highest level of safety
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean orderly condition
• Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications
• Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
• Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to Executive Steward
• Other duties as assigned
