Job summary

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a Back Server to join our F&B team, delivering discreet, attentive service in a Five Star Five Diamond luxury environment. You will greet guests, seat them, and ensure flawless service aligned with our standards.

With at least two years in an upscale restaurant, you will enhance beverage knowledge, manage multi-tasking, and maintain impeccable grooming while standing for long periods and assisting across all service phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar upscale position.
• Basic knowledge of beverages, including wines and cocktails.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain grooming standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all activities related to service of the restaurant, including preparation tasks and training.
• Perform friendly yet discreet and unobtrusive service in greeting, seating and waiting on guests.
• Assist in pre-service and after-service procedures according to standards.
• Follow the sequence of service and maintain consistency across meal periods.
• Explain menu items, ingredients and preparation to guests.
