Job summary

Healthtrax in North Haven, CT seeks a part-time Fitness Sales professional who can prospect, build a book of business, and drive NEW member sign-ups with commission-based pay.

Ideal candidates have retail sales experience, good listening skills, and a background in fitness or wellness. A degree in related fields is preferred; MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Some previous experience in retail sales, ideally within the fitness/health industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communication, Marketing or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; attention to details in verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Hand out guest passes and promote Center activities.
• Ask for referrals for lead generation and schedule follow-up.
• Book and confirm appointments by phone or internet; conduct center tours.
• Present rates and close the sale; address concerns.

The Ideal Candidate is looking for a varied work schedule that includes some evenings; weekends and a few week day shifts on a part time basis.

You are a believer in fitness for life. Other's view you as honest and authentic with a natural ability to be a good listener who is like able and relates well with others. You have a keen sense of personal pride in exceeding goals. You have some previous experience in retail sales, ideally within the fitness, health and wellness industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communication, Marketing or the equivalent, preferred not required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, attention to details in verbal and written communications.

Our Part Time, Fitness Sales professional , earns commission on NEW member sales results. They thrive in generating their personal sales goals in a manner that fosters member retention. The work is not easy but worthwhile. They show self initiative to perform a variety of activities necessary for success from: handing out guest passes, talking up Center activities and asking for referrals for lead generation, booking and confirming appointments by phone or internet, conducting center tours, presenting rates, asking for the sale, uncovering concerns and scheduling timely follow up with those who have not yet become a new member.
