Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Fitness Floor Staff member to support the member experience at Parkway YMCA. You will greet members, assist with equipment, enforce safety and cleanliness standards, and help maintain a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring capacity, guiding safe usage, and coordinating with leadership. Shift flexibility includes openings, closings, and weekends to support the branch.

Qualifications

• Fitness floor or customer service experience.
• CPR/AED certification.
• CORI/SORI background check.
• NCCA or similar accredited personal training certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and guide to equipment; explain usage, distancing, and cleaning expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and stocking of cleaning supplies in fitness facilities.
• Monitor room capacity and member flow to ensure safety and distancing.
• Notify members when sessions are near end and activate Emergency Response Plan if needed.
• Communicate safety concerns to leadership at end of shift.
• Work opening, closing, and weekend shifts as required.
