Job summary

You will lead a team, coach employees, prepare reports, and collaborate with management to maintain policies and compliance; forklift operation may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• Post high school education is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience with 1–3 years in people management.
• Ability to set up and manage agendas with clear timeframes and visual aids.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage listeners, ask pertinent questions, and speak clearly.
• Proficiency with Inside UFPI and knowledge of UFP policy training and navigation of main pages.
• Skilled in searching topics, using Citrix, and maintaining email etiquette with good timelines.
• Expertise with the Precise Plant Quality Program including quality requirements communication, training, and issue troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail in identifying important production details, reporting, and double-check processes.
• Ability to maintain day-to-day routines while remaining organized for flexible periods.
• Effective daily communication with employees, holding them accountable, and conveying production expectations.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to the principle that safety is priority one, with work with safety leaders on JDA/JSA.
• Proper training in conducting machine audits, understanding LOTO, and implementing safety improvements.
• Knowledge of CI principles (5S, TPM) and communicating their importance before implementation.
• Technical knowledge of machinery and equipment, documenting training, and coordinating with maintenance.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and standard work Instructions.
• Ability to provide daily feedback and performance-based advancement discussions.
• Importance of training employees and effective communication during training, emphasizing safety and safeguards.
• Self-awareness to reflect on situations and identify areas for improvement.
• Forklift Driver licensing completion.

Responsibilities

• Manages department inventory.
• Leads CI and safety initiatives among staff.
• Prepares reports and maintains records.
• Participates in Safety Committee and enforces safety standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
• If in Treating Department, follows hazardous material handling procedures.
• May drive a forklift to move material within production area.
