UFP Industries, Inc. in Salisbury, NC seeks a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to oversee multiple departments across shifts, driving safety, quality and productivity in alignment with cost and production goals.

You will lead and develop a team of production staff, implement continuous improvement programs (5S, TPM as applicable), manage inventories and reporting, and collaborate with maintenance and safety groups to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Post high school education is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing; 1–3 years of experience managing people.
  • Ability to set up and manage agendas with clear time frames and effective use of visual aids.
  • Strong communication skills: speak clearly, engage listeners, ask pertinent questions.
  • Proficiency in operating Inside UFPI with understanding of resources, policy training, and main page navigation.
  • Skilled in using Citrix, maintaining email etiquette, and meeting timelines.
  • Expertise in the Precise Plant Quality Program: quality requirements, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Attention to detail in identifying production details, reporting, and ensuring accuracy with double-checks.
  • Ability to maintain routine while remaining organized for flexible periods.
  • Effective daily communication with employees and management to convey production expectations.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to UFP safety priority; work with safety leaders on JDA’s and JSA’s.
  • Training in machine audits, understanding LOTO, and implementing safety improvements.
  • Knowledge of CI principles including 5S and TPM and communicating their importance before implementation.
  • Technical knowledge of machinery and equipment; training documentation and maintenance relationships.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance and standard work instructions.
  • Ability to provide daily feedback, identify advancement potential, and conduct reviews.
  • Emphasis on training employees, effective training communication, and safety safeguards.
  • Self-awareness to reflect and identify areas for improvement.
  • Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
