Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited pharmacy school.
• State licensure as a pharmacist.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and patient counseling.

Responsibilities

• Communicate expectations during start of shift huddle in the absence of a Lead Technician.
• Serve as a resource to technicians in problem solving and assignment of roles.
• Pre-check prescriptions before fill to ensure accuracy and appropriateness (PV1).
• Check of filled prescriptions according to legal and professional standards (PV2).
• Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medication use, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Train/mentor new members that join the team and provide regular feedback on performance and expectations.
• Guide staff at end of shift in preparing the facility for shift change to ensure the incoming shift's team members start their day with a tidy and well-stocked workspace.
