Job summary

Axon in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an experienced RF test engineer to design and run test plans for wireless devices. You will collect data, generate clear reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams to drive design improvements.

Responsibilities include evaluating OTA metrics, working with CMW/CMX and spectrum analyzers, and supporting pre-certification activities. A strong RF background and lab skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or RF field.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on embedded RF testing.
• 3+ years test plan development for wireless interfaces.
• Solid RF theory and practical component characterization.
• Experience with multiband Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, LTE/5G, GNSS.
• Familiarity with cellular certification processes (PTCRB/CTIA/GCF).
• Familiar reading schematics, layouts, drawings.
• Strong documentation and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RF test plans for wireless devices.
• Record RF data, organize results, and create actionable reports.
• Present findings to cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
• Evaluate OTA metrics (TRP, TIS) using lab equipment.
• Use spectrum analyzers and testers for LTE, 5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS.
• Support field evaluations and pre-certification activities.
• Investigate and debug issues like poor sensitivity or interference.
• Collaborate with labs to complete certification activities.
