Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Firmware Test Engineering Manager to lead the testing of firmware architectures, applications, and embedded components. You will manage a mid-size team of engineers, collaborate with hardware design, and translate system requirements into testable specs.

The role requires a strong background in verification/validation, HIL testing, embedded systems, and automation, with leadership experience across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 7+ years in verification/validation testing, HIL, embedded systems or PCBA design.
• Ability to read schematics and understand firmware-electronics interactions.
• Proficient with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, power supplies).
• Experience with NI hardware, TestStand, LabVIEW for automated testing.
• Experience with scripting to create automated tests (Python, C#, C/C++).
• Leadership or project management experience across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of test procedures for firmware features and subsystems.
• Guide engineering requirements for test needs and peer-review test designs.
• Develop test plans and ensure firmware meets all requirements through testing.
• Lead agile teams through new product development processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in test development and automation.
• Frame business risks and opportunities for senior leadership.
