Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks an experienced embedded software/hardware leader to drive development of embedded electronics across multiple projects. You will mentor engineers, define requirements from marketing and user needs, and guide software/firmware design with agile practices.

You will refine test procedures, improve efficiency and scalability, and lead investigations into new technologies to shape a best-in-class roadmap. Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of embedded C/C++ experience.
3+ years of leadership, teaching or mentoring experience.
Knowledge of all software development lifecycle phases.
Experience with bare-metal firmware designs.
Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers in designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting embedded electronics.
Develop and refine engineering requirements based on marketing and user needs.
Lead design and implementation of embedded software systems using agile processes.
Peer-review software/firmware architecture, designs and source code.
Establish and execute test procedures for software applications and subsystems.
Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
Lead technology investigations, system requirements, architecture definitions, and reusability strategies.
Communicate with senior leadership to frame risks and opportunities.
