Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Firmware Test Engineering Manager to lead testing across firmware architectures, applications, and embedded systems. You will guide a mid-size team, interface with hardware design and cross-functional groups, and translate system requirements into verifiable test cases.

You will drive test plans, peer reviews, and agile processes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to Milwaukee Tool standards while solving complex testing challenges with data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of verification/validation testing, HIL testing, embedded systems and/or PCBA design.
• Ability to read schematics and data sheets; understand interaction between firmware and electronics.
• Proficient with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.).
• Experience with National Instruments hardware, Test Stand, and LabView for automated testing.
• Experience scripting in Python, C#, or C/C++ for automated tests.
• Proven leadership or project management experience across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, execution, and troubleshooting of test procedures for firmware features and subsystems.
• Lead requirement reviews for test needs and drive consensus for delivery.
• Oversee peer-review of test designs and automation.
• Develop test plans and ensure firmware meets requirements via testing.
• Lead agile project teams through new product development processes.
• Drive continuous improvement in test development and outcomes.
• Frame business risks/opportunities for senior leadership clearly.
