Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a firmware engineer to develop firmware for secure enclaves of custom ASICs in the TeraWave system. You will work with hardware and communications engineers to support security, operation, and lifecycle management of custom silicon.

Required: a Bachelor’s in CS/CE/EE, 5+ years in firmware, C programming, and experience with embedded software and hardware interfaces. Preferred: Rust no-std, Cortex‑M, TrustZone/TF‑M, RTOS, CI/HIL testing.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/CE/EE or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of firmware development experience.
• Experience writing software that directly controls hardware (firmware, drivers, low-level embedded).
• Experience debugging embedded firmware and hardware/software interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop ROM code, bootloaders, and runtime firmware for secure enclaves of custom ASICs.
• Develop firmware for secure boot, attestation, OTA updates, provisioning, secure debug, telemetry, recovery, tamper monitoring, and security.
• Collaborate with hardware and comms engineers to define firmware interfaces.
• Support pre-silicon firmware development, integration, and validation.
• Assist post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and validation of custom ASICs.
