Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join the multinational firmware organization located at Liberty Lake, WA or Waseca, MN.

You will work with local teams across the full development lifecycle for a broad range of solutions, from residential products to communication systems. You will develop firmware in C/C++ with unit tests, debug hardware issues in the lab, and ensure compliance with FCC/UL standards while supporting products through long lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware and associated unit tests in C/C++.
• Assist in design, documentation, development, debugging, validation and maintenance of code.
• Implement standards-compliant features within regulatory frameworks such as FCC and UL.
• Identify, analyze, document and resolve defects in firmware using standard practices.
• Provide post-deployment support across 20+ year lifetime, including upgrades and end-of-life support.
• Hands-on debugging in the hardware lab.
