Job summary

Itron is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join an international team based in Liberty Lake, WA or Waseca, MN. You will participate in the full development lifecycle for residential, light commercial, and industrial products and related communication systems.

Responsibilities include designing, debugging and validating firmware with C/C++, ensuring regulatory compliance (FCC/UL), and performing hardware lab debugging across a product’s 20+-year lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operating in a rigorous development environment with regular, internal integration and external customer-facing system releases.
• Assisting in design, documentation, development, debugging, validation and maintenance of code.
• Implementing standards-compliant features within regulatory frameworks such as FCC and UL.
• Developing firmware and associated unit tests in C/C++.
• Identifying, analyzing, documenting and resolving defects, errors and inconsistencies in firmware using standard practices and procedures.
• Supporting products after they’ve been deployed to the field across their 20+-year lifetime: from initial programming to routine upgrades to low-battery end-of-life support.
• Hands-on debugging in the hardware lab.
