Job summary

Rural King is hiring a Firearms Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and firearm expertise. You will ensure safety, provide product guidance, and maintain compliant operations across the firearms department.

You will greet customers, answer questions, demonstrate features, and process transactions while staying current on trends and regulations to support a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; firearms safety training is a plus.
• Previous experience in firearms sales or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local firearms laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage customers.
• Active listening and clear, articulate responses.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems for transactions and records.
• Commitment to safety and security in the shopping environment.
• Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering the department to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Engage customers to understand needs, preferences and budget.
• Provide expert guidance and unbiased product recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with firearms laws and regulations.
• Complete firearm compliance training and SOP understanding.
• Assist customers in selecting ammunition and accessories.
• Maintain organized firearms displays and accurate pricing.
• Process transactions accurately and handle documentation.
• Stay updated on firearm trends and models.
• Listen to customer concerns and resolve or escalate as needed.
• Build long-term relationships to generate repeat business.
• Demonstrate features and benefits and conduct product demonstrations.
• Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques.
• Promote RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan and loyalty program.
• Process special orders, operate POS, resolve returns.
• Contribute to visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Participate in cross-training and learning initiatives.
• Provide proactive internal and external support.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
