Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems across various facilities. You will ensure system reliability, comply with NFPA standards, and coordinate with clients on service visits and upgrades.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 2+ years of related experience, NFPA knowledge, and a valid driver's license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2+ years of directly related experience.
• Valid state license required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 17 and related standards for inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire suppression systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and pipe threading equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems, including kitchen hood suppression systems, per NFPA requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance on system components and release mechanisms per NFPA standards and manufacturer specs.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders, ensuring proper pressure and agent fill.
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks, pressure issues, and faulty components; implement corrective actions per NFPA requirements.
• Repair and replace system components to maintain NFPA compliance and safety standards.
• Coordinate with clients to schedule service visits and communicate recommendations for upgrades as per NFPA.
• Inspect and maintain gas cylinders, including hydrostatic testing, refilling, and reinstallation per NFPA and manufacturer specs.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies; diagnose problems and restore functionality.
• Document all service activities, reports, work orders, parts usage, and customer notes in the Service Trade platform.
• Collaborate with Deficiency Sellers to provide inspection reports and repair estimates timely.
• Interact professionally with clients to discuss findings and recommendations; assist with system upgrades.
• Work with Service Coordinators to optimize work orders, material requisitions, and scheduling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company safety policies.
