Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair kitchen hood suppression systems across client facilities. You will ensure system reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance while working hands-on with fire protection equipment.

Responsibilities include testing cylinders, recharging agents, identifying and fixing issues, and reporting findings. Strong NFPA knowledge and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of directly related experience.
• Valid state-specific license required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 17 and NFPA 96 standards.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and pipe threading equipment.
• Valid driver's license with clean record and ability to travel to client sites.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems per NFPA codes.
• Perform routine maintenance on cylinders, nozzles, release mechanisms, and control panels.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders; ensure proper pressure and fill.
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks or faults; implement NFPA-compliant fixes.
• Repair and replace components as needed; ensure NFPA compliance.
• Coordinate with clients to schedule visits and suggest improvements.
• Prepare inspection reports, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
• Work with coordinators to optimize orders and scheduling.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following safety guidelines.
