Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC seeks a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems in various facilities. This role ensures system reliability, compliance with NFPA standards, and accurate documentation of service activities.

The technician will conduct inspections, perform routine maintenance, test gas cylinders, respond to service calls, and coordinate with clients and coordinators for scheduling and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting fire suppression systems per NFPA 17 and NFPA 96.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and testing of kitchen hood suppression components.
• Ability to document service activities clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems per NFPA codes.
• Perform maintenance on cylinders, release mechanisms, and control panels.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders and ensure proper pressurization.
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks or faults and take corrective actions.
• Repair or replace system components to maintain compliance.
• Coordinate with clients for service visits and recommendations.
• Maintain gas cylinders and perform hydrostatic testing per standards.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Document all activities and create accurate reports and notes.
• Collaborate with Deficiency Sellers and Service Coordinators for estimates and scheduling.
• Interact with clients professionally to discuss findings and upgrade options.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following guidelines.
