Job summary

The Hiller Companies is hiring a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain, and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems across facilities in Tennessee.

This role requires NFPA knowledge, tool proficiency, and a strong commitment to safety. Travel up to 80% is expected, with coordination of service visits and client communication essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years directly related Fire Suppression experience.
• Valid state-specific license required.
• Knowledge of NFPA 17 and related standards for inspection/maintenance.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and pipe threading machines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; travel required.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems, including kitchen hood systems, per NFPA requirements.
• Maintain and repair components, cylinders, release mechanisms and control panels.
• Test and recharge agent cylinders; ensure proper pressure and fill levels.
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks, pressure issues, and faulty components.
• Coordinate with clients to schedule service visits and discuss improvements.
• Inspect and maintain gas cylinders with hydrostatic testing and refills.
• Document all service activities and notes in the Service Trade platform.
• Assist with repair estimates and provide clear customer communication.
