Job summary

The Hiller Companies, LLC is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair kitchen hood fire suppression systems across the state of Tennessee, with travel up to 80% and reporting to the Wilmington branch.

The role emphasizes NFPA-compliant inspections and maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and thorough documentation to ensure system reliability and safety for diverse facilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire suppression systems (kitchen hoods) per NFPA 17, NFPA 96 and applicable codes
• Perform routine maintenance on cylinders, release mechanisms, nozzles and control panels per NFPA and specs
• Test and recharge agent cylinders, ensure proper pressure and fill
• Identify and troubleshoot leaks, pressure issues, or faulty components and correct
• Repair/replace components to maintain NFPA compliance
• Coordinate with clients to schedule service visits and discuss upgrades per NFPA
• Inspect gas cylinders with hydrostatic testing, refilling and reinstallation
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to restore functionality
• Document all service activities in the Service Trade platform (reports, orders, notes)
• Coordinate with Deficiency Sellers to prepare inspection reports and repair estimates
• Interact with clients to schedule work, discuss findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with Service Coordinators to optimize orders and scheduling
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety procedures
