Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems and suppression gas systems at customer sites across the Rochester area. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot systems and coordinate with customers to keep equipment compliant and operational.

You’ll join a team that emphasizes on-call rotation for emergency service, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and solid PC proficiency (Windows, Excel,

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong customer-facing service and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient PC skills: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Manufacturer certifications are a plus; ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem; valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service call, customer activity and program system products.
• Assist customers with questions; participate in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service; perform inspections of Suppression Gas Systems.
