Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Suppression Technician to service portable extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints and specifications, troubleshoot, and perform inspections while maintaining safety and quality.

You will manage daily service calls, coordinate with dispatch, and participate in an on-call rotation. A High School Diploma and strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills are required;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Hands-on experience servicing, troubleshooting, or installing fire suppression systems preferred and willing to train.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install equipment from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and program system products.
• Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems and use smartphone-based tools and field equipment to complete assigned work.
• Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service support.
