Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to diagnose and fix issues, manage daily service calls, and support customer programs.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, customer-facing professionalism, and a valid US driver's license. On-call rotation and on-site work are expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Manufacturer certifications (e.g., ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity and system programs.
• Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Perform inspections of Suppression Gas Systems per contract requirements.
