Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Suppression Technician to perform service, repairs, inspections, and installation work on fire suppression systems at customer sites. You will handle portable extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems, reading blueprints and manuals, with on-call emergency support.

You will work with multiple manufacturers, apply field tools, and ensure quality service across various facilities, including government sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• PC skills including Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Hands-on experience servicing or installing fire suppression systems; training available.
• Valid US driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install equipment from multiple manufacturers (Simplex, ANSUL).
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity.
• Work with clean agent and dry chemical systems and special hazards.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems per contract requirements.
• Inspect systems using mobile tools and field equipment; assist customers promptly.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
