Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a highly motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to join our Fire Protection team. This role designs, coordinates, and executes fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects, ensuring code-compliant layouts.

You will create layouts with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK, perform hydraulic calculations, develop fabrication drawings and material lists, coordinate with stakeholders, and support projects from design

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Hydratec experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
• Excellent communicator, self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Only applicants who possess the minimum qualifications will be considered
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze, and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
• Write, plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Other duties as assigned
