Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a highly motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to join our Fire Protection team. This position designs, coordinates, and executes fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, and specialty construction projects.

The role uses AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK to create code-compliant layouts, performs hydraulic calculations, develops fabrication drawings and material lists, and coordinates with stakeholders from design

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCad, Revit, and/or Hydratec Experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
• Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills
• Only applicants who possess the minimum qualifications will be considered
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including construction drawings and specifications.
• Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups.
• Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades.
• Other duties as assigned
