Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a highly motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to design, coordinate, and execute fire sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects.

You will create layouts using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK, perform hydraulic calculations, develop fabrication drawings, and coordinate with stakeholders from design to installation, joining a team delivering innovative fire protection solutions.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Hydratec experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
• Excellent communicator, self-motivated with great organizational skills
• Only applicants who possess the minimum qualifications will be considered
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours and weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents and construction drawings
• Write, plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
• BIM modeling and field surveying
• Coordinate fabrication lists between trades
• Other duties as assigned
