Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, a leading mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractor, seeks a Fire Sprinkler Designer / Project Manager to design, coordinate and execute fire sprinkler systems for diverse projects.

You will create code‑compliant layouts with AutoCAD, HydraCAD and AutoSPRINK, perform hydraulic calculations, develop fabrication drawings and material lists, and collaborate with customers, contractors and internal teams from design through installation.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred.
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Hydratec experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent communicator with strong organizational skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including extended hours/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents across disciplines.
• Plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop positive relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Other duties as assigned.
