Job summary

S.A. Comunale Co., Inc. is seeking a Sprinkler Designer to provide excellent service to customers alongside Design staff. The role involves drafting sprinkler designs in accordance with NFPA standards and participating in project planning and execution.

You will work on budget-aware design tasks, collaborate with multiple trades, and ensure accurate documentation. Strong CAD skills and field surveying ability are required for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of fire protection design experience.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Proficiency in Hydratec CAD or AutoSPRINK required.
• NICET certification a plus.
• Ability to conduct field surveys to obtain dimensions.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sprinkler designs per NFPA standards (NFPA 13).
• Identify building construction type and appropriate protections.
• Estimate design hours and schedule tasks.
• Coordinate with other trades on complex projects.
• Produce project drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material takeoffs.
• Prepare and submit project paperwork (permits, test papers).
• Mentor Trainees and Junior Designers as needed.
• Lead project tasks and provide status updates to Manager.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices and company policies.
