Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in the United States is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain fire alarm and security systems, including activation panels, intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV. You will perform hands-on installation, programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure systems meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience servicing and installing fire alarm and security/low-voltage systems.
• Hands-on experience installing, programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems.
• Strong working knowledge of fire alarm control panels, field devices, system wiring, programming, testing, and commissioning procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• FAL and Texas security license required.
• FEL-K preferred.
• MSHA training preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently install, program, commission, troubleshoot, service, repair, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, including associated devices, control panels, notification appliances, initiating devices, and related system components.
• Independently troubleshoot, service, repair, inspect, and maintain intrusion alarm, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Perform programming, system modifications, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm control panels and associated equipment.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
