Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Suppression Service Technician to perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites in Farmington Hills, MI. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and install across multiple manufacturers, with strong safety and customer-service focus.

Role includes on-call rotation for emergencies, use of mobile devices for reporting, and opportunities for cross-training.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving.
• PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook.
• FEL-A certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot and install systems from manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software programs and manuals.
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity; program system products.
• Work with clean agent and dry chemical systems and other hazards.
