Job summary

Ruhrpumpen is seeking a Market Development Manager for Fire Protection Systems to grow sales and market presence of fire protection pump systems and packaged solutions. You will educate customers, consultants, EPCs and internal teams on why a complete, listed, and approved system is the right choice.

The role requires deep technical fire protection knowledge with a strong business orientation, translating expertise into commercial opportunities alongside sales engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent with business orientation.
• Certification or demonstrable knowledge of NFPA, UL and FM standards.
• Proven experience with fire protection equipment across multiple high-engineering industries.
• Experience dealing with AHJs at project sites.
• Training credentials: ability to teach and certify courses counting toward annual training hours for attendees.
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain complex topics simply at all levels.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the sales force as the fire protection technical expert on customer visits.
• Design and deliver webinars, courses, and training sessions for customers, consultants, EPCs and RP sales teams.
• Deliver training that qualifies for annual continuing education hours for attendees.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity and pricing strategies in fire protection.
• Identify existing and new customers, EPCs and Consultants involved in specification and procurement of fire protection systems.
• Develop market entry strategies for new regions and industries.
• Build and maintain relationships at all levels (engineering, procurement, decision-makers).
• Conduct high-level technical-commercial presentations.
• Transfer market intelligence to RP’s global sales engineering teams.
• Engage AHJs to support approvals and compliance.
• Ensure alignment between technical capability and customer needs.
• Collaborate with External/Internal Sales Engineers, Sales Management, Operations, Field Services and Legal.
